If you’re anything like me, and surely millions of other people, you’re sick and tired of looking at your plain old iPhone, Samsung or any other smartphone you carry around every day. Especially since it’s a device we literally use for hours a day, every single day, looking down at the same smartphone that you know every one else has too could be a little uninspiring.

Well ADZero hopes to really change things around for those of us with this acute example of a “first world problem” by offering something slightly different than a plastic bedazzled smartphone cover. They’re set to release a sophisticated bamboo smartphone that will surely blown your previous phone out of the water (with regards to how it looks, of course). What’s even better is that the Bamboo smartphone will be running Google’s highly touted new Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, meaning it will work quite similarly to the Galaxy Nexus as well.

‘Natural Smartphones’ Is A Growing New Trend Among Consumers

The prototype in the video above is claimed to be very close to what the finished product will look like and the demonstrator points out that it will look more like the second phone is displays. Those that have played around with the smartphone say that it has this organic and natural feel to it and that it is definitely a viable product within the niche market of those looking to upgrade their experience to something new. The designer of the phone also claims that he’s proud of the fact that the natural wood is likely to get scratched and dent more easily than most smartphone because it’s what should naturally be happening when you do drop it (they’re really sticking to their organic-ness eh!). However, the bamboo that is currently being used on their prototypes has also been treated for up to four years by their bamboo suppliers in an attempt to make it more durable than it would be completely untouched.

ADZero plans to release the Bamboo smartphone in both the United Kingdom and China very soon and stated that is will be priced similarly to other high-end smartphones; so probably in the $500+ price range. It’ll also be primarily sold in boutique mobile stores rather than at big box retailers, which makes sense given their target market.
