If you are currently a bit confused with all of the tablets on the market at the moment (and who isn’t), then things are probably not going to get any better for you in 2012 as there is looking to be a whole lot of additions to the tablet market. One of those is going to be the Asus Eee Memo Pad according to some leaked information and photos.

The specs for it already look pretty promising for a 7 inch device, although some are saying that by the time that it’s released, it may already be a little bit behind the rest of the market. Keep in mind that all of the information regarding the Asus Eee Memo Pad is leaked, and therefore no reliable sources have actually confirmed whether it is true or not.  The tablet is expected to be unveiled at CES 2012, so hold tight for an official confirmation.

The most important thing here is that the Eee Memo Pad by ASUS is going to ship with a Snapdragon dual-core processor that is rated at 1.2 GHz. Internal memory will depend on how much you are paying for it, but will range from 16GB to 64GB, and the resolution for the screen comes in at 1,280 x 800.

Of course, all of these things mean almost nothing without the price, which was something that was not leaked. If the ASUS Eee Memo Pad will be selling for $500, then it will be doomed right from the start, as the specs that have been leaked would never warrant such a price. However, with a lower price tag (which seems to be the trend in recent tablets), the Eee Memo Pad could turn out to be something that is quite competitive to pony up alongside its larger cousin the Transformer Prime.

The Asus Eee Memo Pad will also include built in 3G technology and Wi-Fi, but these are both things that we have come to expect when buying a tablet. As stated before, the price point that ASUS will be looking for will determine whether or not this is a successful tablet.  The upcoming CES 2012; where ASUS will likely unveil all their latest goodies including the Eee Memo Pad is an event you should keep your eye on.
