The Galaxy Nexus is finally available for purchase on the 4G LTE Verizon Wireless network, which I might add recently scored #1 across the major carriers once again this year. Coming to you as the “first smartphone to combine Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and the Power of America’s fastest, most reliable 4G network,” said the official press release.
You can have the Galaxy Nexus for $299.99 with a new 2-year contract, so if you’re eligible for an upgrade this might be your calling. Ice Cream Sandwich is geared towards being clean, simple and highly useful for the end-user and the Galaxy Nexus really pulls out every inch of its capabilities as a mobile OS.
Coming to the hyped smartphone, ICS will offer a whole slew of options including, but not limited to: a redesigned user-interface, Android Beam, Face Unlock, Cloud Services, Google Music, Google+, People Application, and much more! You’ll be able to bask in the glory of all the features on the large 4.65 inch display that the Galaxy Nexus provides its owners.
Galaxy Nexus Spec Recap
Quickly going over some of the specs for the Nexus, you will be getting a device that is slim: 9.47mm, projecting at 1280 x 720 resolution on the 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED display which is moderately contoured (the whole phone is), a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, supporting HTML5 web browsing, 5MP rear camera with an LED flash and 1080P video capture, 1.3MP front facing camera, Bluetooth 3.0, 1GB RAM, and approximately 32GB of added on-board memory.
The rear of the device comes stamped with the traditional Verizon logo branded with 4G LTE, and Samsung’s logo on a textured design. The Galaxy Nexus is aesthetically clean and appealing, with plenty to boast about under the hood and feature-wise like multi-tasking and the new integrations from Ice Cream Sandwich, which really make it stand out. We expect the Nexus to do really well throughout the next few months for those Android folks who are ready for something new and powerful.
To kick off the long awaited smartphone by Google, and Samsung; Google has released a couple of commercials that are sure to tickle the senses a bit. One we found particularly amusing will be provided below for your enjoyment too!
