We all knew that Amazon was really onto something when the first rumors of the Kindle Fire came out, but no one expected that it would be nearly as commercially successful as it has become. Just two weeks after Amazon released their Kindle Fire, the tablet is expected to pass all off the other ailing tablet makers and jump to the second spot after Apple.
The company literally came out of left field and many tablet industry insiders are claiming that they’ve disturbed the market quite a bit with companies realizing the importance of an affordable price point over all else. Amazon expects to ship over 3.9 million Kindle Fire tablets from the release date on November 14th to the end of December giving the company a sudden 13.8% market share control of the tablet market.
Amazon’s Kindle Fire Expected To Be First Real iPad Challenger
After almost two years since Apple literally created the industry with the launch of the iPad, it seems like there is finally a seriously contender for the Cupertino-based iPhone and iPad maker that controls a whopping 65.7% of the tablet market. The Kindle Fire is believed to be a the perfect combination of affordable pricing, creative marketing and specs that consumers are looking for.
There has been no middle market for consumers looking to get their hands on a tablet with prices starting at a few hundred dollars for products that were mostly destroyed by critics for being unfinished and sloppy.
Kindle Fire Is First Affordable Tablet; Major Reason Behind It’s Success
As previously mentioned, the Kindle Fire has set a new standard for pricing and despite the fact that Amazon incurs a $2.00 loss on every tablet sold, they plan to drive the sale of Amazon memberships and expect more people to use Amazon.com to purchase goods which will allow the company to remain profitable as a whole. It’s definitely a risky move, but they’ve come out on to with this decentralized method and tablet makers are taking notice.
Million of new Kindle Fire owners will be downloading and browsing digital content on their main-site and this will offset the small loss while snatching up as much market share as they can.
