Whether you haven’t touched your digital camera because you are scared of technology, or you just received one as a gift this past holiday season, the Mid Michigan Photography Club is offering their expertise and on-site professionals to answer any of your questions about basic photography.
Snapping photos of your loved ones is great for cherishing memories, but many people will find it really rewarding to travel around taking stills of some of the most serene and beautiful places that Michigan has to offer. Knowing how your device works and how to enhance your skills and abilities can transform your pictures from sub-par to stunning.
MMPC Open House is Free
The MMPC has held a photography open house since 2008 and each year the event is open to the public. The best part is that the event is free of cost to those wishing to attend, and you don’t even need to sign up. Simply show up on the day (January 11, 2012) with your camera if you’ve got it, and get live help in Q&A format from “several professionals that will help answer your questions about photography.”
The information will be divided up in a series of mini-seminars where individuals will travel to several different tables, each designated on a particular aspect of photography, and the organization says that this format is “an opportunity for potential new members to meet us.” The topics being covered in the “round robin” format include: Camera Basics, Exposure Basics, Composition Basics, Equipment, Editing, Troubleshooting, and Problem Solving.
The Mid Michigan Photography Club open house is scheduled from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Lansing (510 West Ottawa). If you’re looking for more information on the event feel free to hit the button below and visit their official homepage with the full details, and an included link for a physical location map.
