Even though some people would agree that it hasn’t been too long since we have seen the latest operating system from tech giant Microsoft, we are already looking at a steady stream of news regarding the latest installment from Microsoft’s long line of OS’, named Windows 8.
As you could have probably guessed from the name, Windows 8 is going to replace the current OS, Windows 7. And like just about any of the new software that we have been seeing lately, this one is going to be filled to the brim with lots of great toys like the Windows 8 app store.
If you know where to look, you can easily find a Beta version of the Windows 8 OS, which can give you a fairly accurate idea of what it is going to be when it hits store shelves. At the present moment only Microsoft knows about its release date, and the only information surrounding it was given to us when it was first officially announced, where they said it would be a 2012 release date.
Windows 8 Tablet in the Works
Another interesting piece of news regarding Windows 8 is that Microsoft is already working on putting it on a tablet to sell. The general consensus in the IT world is that Windows 8 is going to be a pretty solid OS.
When informationweek interviewed 971 IT professionals, they found out that an impressive 52% of them had plans to make the switch over from their current OS to Windows 8. This is a pretty impressive figure when you take into consideration a lot of companies are still using older OS’, like Vista or even Windows XP.
Other than what has been reviewed here, there is still a fair amount of speculation regarding Windows 8. By keeping tabs on sites that publish the latest news regarding the operating system, you will get better insight into things like the release date for Windows 8.
