‘Nokia Kinetic’ Shows Off Bendable Screen Protoype

Nokia is currently in the process of releasing a number of phones in partnership with Windows in a deal they linked a bit ago, but the company’s research and development team is still keeping things running.

The people over at Nokia’s research lab have provided us with a glimpse of what we can expect in their future. The prototype, called the Nokia Kinetic, is horizontally displayed and can be navigated with some slight bending and twisting of the device’s edges.

Nokia Kinetic May Be Future of Tablet/Smartphone Navigation

As you can see in the video posted by Engadget, bending the video towards yourself selects whatever you have the selected or zooms into an image that you already have open.

Nokia Kinetic is still in the early prototype stages of development, something Nokia has officially confirmed as well, but this is definitely something that would be incredibly useful on future models of Nokia smartphones like the Nokia Lumia they released today.

Nokia Hopes To Gain The Attention of Developers With Nokia Kinetic

Many analysts speculate that Nokia is attempting to tease and tantalize tablet/smartphone developers by putting Nokia Kinect on display for them to see as well. Some developers have already began buzzing about the ‘endless possibilities’ with regards to gaming and the twist/bend function of the device.
