If we’re to believe Samsung’s claims about their new phone, get ready to rid yourself of your backpacks. The company’s newest phone, the Galaxy Note, has been boasted as the “ultimate on-the-go” device. It is, essentially, their way of combining a smartphone with a tablet. The device has a 5.3” full touch display, making it far larger than the iPhone 4S’ 4 inch screen. It’s powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual Core Processor to ensure that no matter if it’s a real-time video stream you’re watching or playing games, that the smartphone will be able to do so with ease.

The battery has got your back for up to nine hours of conversations, and even longer in standby if all you want to do is stare lovingly at your new purchase. The Samsung Galaxy Note is equipped with an 8MP camera and comes with tools to let you edit pictures and videos before sharing via various social platforms with extreme ease. For those whom scheduling is part of their daily lives, the Galaxy Note has you covered with the S Planner, which will give you a smart way to plan and manage your business and social life.

Another feature that is quite interesting is that the Samsung Galaxy Note comes with something called the ‘S Pen’. No more will there be a need to make sure you have a pen and pieces of paper on you or in your bag that are almost always liable to disappear. And what’s even more beautiful is that your hands and fingers can stay warm and comfy in gloves and mittens when you’re outside in the middle of winter checking your friends’ latest status updates.

Samsung GALAXY Note Specs:

  • Operation System:  Android™ 2.3
  • Size:  Weight 178g – Dimension(HxWxD):  146.86 x 82.95 x 9.65 mm
  • Display: External, Size 5.29″. Super AMOLED Technology, 800 x 1280 resolution
  • Battery: Standard. Talk time up to 9 H, Standby up to 600H
  • User Interface: Input Device, Touch
  • Camera: 8MP Resolution
  • Video: Video recording 1920 X 1080
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth v2.0, microUSB
  • Memory: User Memory 16 GB
  • External Memory:  MicroSD up to 32GB

With the S Pen you’ll be able to touch, press and drag, draw, edit videos and pictures even more precisely, write notes and even emails in handwriting form easily. The Galaxy Note also enables business people and students alike the ability to create and edit documents wherever they are, which is perfect for those last minute corrections, reviews or deadlines. With all of these features, the Samsung Galaxy Note is created for those who were looking for a device with the functionalities of both a smartphone and a tablet. It is large enough to make reading easier, yet still slim and small enough to be carried easily without feeling too bulky. It has something that can cater to and satisfy a business executive, a student or just a regular person.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is expected to sell for about $200 on a 3-year term contract with Bell, Rogers and TELUS when it hits their shelves February 14th. Samsung is already marketing the heck out of this smartphone, among other ones in their 2012 lineup, with a  Super Bowl ad that aired last night mocking Apple fanboys lining up for yet another iPhone.

I don’t know about you, but I think this would be the perfect Valentine’s Day present.
