It’s been a while since we’ve seen any news on a new flagship smartphone to come from Samsung besides the current Galaxy S II. We get a lot of releases from smaller firms, but as far as Samsung goes, the time is coming up for a new replacement for their current lineup.
Well it seems like Samsung realizes this too, and they have been wrapping up their project for the soon to be Samsung Galaxy S III, a phone that is going to be rocking a brand new quad-core processor for its power and speed hungry users. Even though we have recently been able to get our hands on the Galaxy Nexus phone, it is looking like the Samsung Galaxy S III is going to be a quantum leap forward in phone design from their current flagship model.
Galaxy S II Could Arrive in May
Sources say that the next generation Galaxy smartphone is going to be ready in May 2012, just in time for summer to start. The phone becomes even more impressive when you take a look at its aesthetic specs, and how thick it is going to be – a mere 7 mm.
Naturally, the Samsung Galaxy S III will also be sporting the Android 4.0 OS, Ice Cream Sandwich. To give you an idea of how important this phone will be; there are currently no other phones being sold on the market today that have a quad core processor. In fact, a lot of laptops still don’t have that kind of a power!
If the Samsung Galaxy S III has a quad core processor, all eyes will be on Apple to see if they are going to be able to keep up the pace with their iPhone 5. Furthermore, if Apple puts a dual-core processor in the iPhone 5, then that could prove to be a fatal mistake as people are going to want to go to the phone with the most processing power, which would make the Galaxy S III, the leading contender on the mobile market.
