iPad 2 Gold History Edition Stuart Hughes

Apple spends countless time in the research and development stages, as well as negotiations with suppliers to shave down the entry price for their devices. The iPad 2 given its specs and usability has left competitors struggling to compete in Apple’s price range, without leaving out key features.

A man by the name of Stuart Hughes has gone and turned that upside down by offering a revamped iPad 2 that will cost you a whopping $8 million dollars. What justifies this outrageous price tag where for the same price you could buy approximately 16,031 traditional iPad 2’s rather than just one?

The iPad 2 Gold History Edition, is encrusted with 1.5 carats of flawless diamonds, a total of 53 sparkling gems sit comfortably inside a 24 carat gold Apple logo, with the rear cover being formed from 24 carat gold as well that weighs a hefty 2,000 grams. Okay so now the battle to be the lightest is being countered too.

And this gadget doesn’t stop there either when attempting to justify this lofty price tag. The main front frame is “made from the oldest rock the world has to offer in the form of Ammolite, sourced from Canada this stone is over 75 million years old.”

Further separating this tablet from anything else imaginary is the splintered thigh bones of a T-Rex Dinosaur that are 65 million years old and shaved into the Ammolite for the front outer bezel. Onto the home button now where you will find a single 8.5 carat flawless diamond “inlaid in its own platinum surround with 12 outer flawless diamonds.”

Seeing as how it’s being made there must be demand right? Well if you got a spare $8 million to spend on a “hey I’m rich” tablet you better hurry up because Hughes has only designated a conservative 2 units to be made, but apparently you can find other variations as well. You have to figure that T-Rex bone probably isn’t that easy to get your hands on right?

I have a feeling more than a few people will head over to the craft store, pick up some fake jewels, gold spray paint, and a replicated front bezel and save themselves about $7,999,500. But hey if buying this sort of thing because you have the money or want to stand out from the typical smart-cover then who am I to judge what makes you happy?

Wow, what type of a bozo would buy this? I wouldn’t even if I had enough money to…just pathetic.
