Traxxas XO-1 RC Car 100 MPH

It’s the perfect gift for the young or the old. Okay, maybe not too young or even too old as this RC rocket of a super car does 100 plus miles per hour.  Brought to you by Traxxas, this is the fastest production remote controlled car out there.

The Traxxas XO-1 will do 100+ MPH out of the box and boasts some incredible acceleration stats.  Being recorded at zero to sixty in 2.3 seconds and zero to one-hundred in 4.92 seconds, this bad boy can stomp all over cars like the Nissan Skyline GTR who locks in around a 3.3 second 0 to 60.

The company warns that the RC car is indeed not a toy and is meant for experts who can control the thing!  Apparently the true potential or 100MPH speeds can be “unlocked with the Traxxas Link App.”  You can snag the app from the downloads in your app store, and the app will require you to use your iPhone or iPod Touch, which is politely disclaimed as “sold separately.”  Sorry folks but this supercar doesn’t come with an iPhone 4S tucked inside the box.

Traxxas XO-1 RC Super Car Specs & Price

The motor itself is powered by Castle Creations after the two companies set out to attack the seemingly impossible; a “off the shelf” RC car that could top 100MPH.  “The custom Traxxas Big Block brushless motor invites ‘cubic inches’ to the party for massive acceleration and true supercar performance with the largest brushless motor ever offered in a Ready-To-Race model.”

Now that you are all drooling and wondering what the price is, it will snag a few bills from your stash at a suggested selling price point of $1,099.99.  Quite expensive, but not when you think about the capabilities of the XO-1, as it’s 1/7 scale, 4WD, electric and can steal almost all of the street cars on the boulevard’s pink slips.

I would imagine this thing is pretty much reserved for an oval track, since a quick acceleration burst would put the car long out of viewing range rather instantaneously.  If you’re going to pick one of these up, props to you and I can already hear you chanting in your head – “please don’t hit a wall, please don’t hit a wall”  As for all you stander-byers; watch out for shattered shins if this thing collides with you.
