If you have been hankering to have dual SIM cards on your smartphone, the Vooma Peel PG920 can make that happen. The Peel is the “world’s first dual sim iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S with backup battery,” and can cater to those willing to jailbreak their device.
While the exterior does add some extra-heft to your iPhone, which many may gripe over, the Vooma Peel PG920 does add some extra bars of battery which could make it worth your while. The system acts as a case like device and is not all that big in my opinion.
Vooma Peel Requires Jailbreaking & Vooma App
After jailbreaking your phone, you will then have to install the Vooma app (which is jailbreak only) to get the system fully working. Switching to the second SIM card and vice versa can then be done flawlessly, although it’s still in the beta or pre-release phase and not up to 100% par working order.
If you visit the Vooma website, which I will provide a link at the bottom of the article, they are allowing you to sign up, and keep updated for when the add-on will be available. And as far as legality it appears that the company has got approval from the FCC so no worries there.
So if you are wondering who could benefit from the use of this system other than those wanting to boast about their dual-SIM capabilities; well I guess drug-dealers could find it pretty enticing-not that I support that though of course. If you’re always trying to call someone who doesn’t answer your phone number, I guess this could work too… but it wouldn’t take long for them to add your second line to the backlist.
Whatever your reason for getting the Dual-SIM capabilities of the Vooma Peel PG920, it appears this is the first successful hack without issues that will bring the feature to your iPhone. No word yet on a price or the official release date of the product, but you’re welcome to click the following link if you want to get signed up to receive updates as they come: Vooma Peel PG920.
